LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC — Authorities rushed to the scene of a rollover 18-wheeler crash early Tuesday that had a section of Interstate 26 shut down in Springdale, reports WLTX.
The accident unfolded on the eastbound lanes of I-26 near mile marker 112, forcing a closure between Exit 111 to U.S. Highway 1 and Exit 113 to Durham Drive.
Crews worked over the course of several hours to have the rolled big rig removed from the scene, and by 11:45 a.m., motorists were able to get by through one eastbound lane.
Other travel lanes gradually reopened throughout the next two hours, but commuters were advised to use extra caution. Alternate routes were recommended.
