COLUMBIA, SC – No injuries were reported in a collision between a big rig and a fire engine truck that happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
According to WISTV, the collision took place at the intersection of Garners Ferry Road and Atlas Road. It was there that one fire truck engine collided with the big rig. Columbia-Richland fire crews said the fire engine truck was on its way to respond to an emergency call when the collision happened.
Firefighters and the two big rig occupants were evaluated for injuries at the scene and did not have to go to the hospital.
The Columbia-Richland Fire Department will analyze the details behind the collision. The department, along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, has not shared additional information at this time.
