Motorcyclist dies after crash with rollback tow truck in Blacksburg

BLACKSBURG, SC – A 47-year-old man operating a Honda 2006 motorcycle died after slipping under a 2012 rollback tow truck after his motorcycle overturned Wednesday.

Just prior to the crash, reported before 1:15 p.m., the motorcyclist drifted off Hopewell Road before coming back to the road, WYFF4 reports. The motorcyclist, later identified as Mark David Cook, went under the truck as the truck driver was waiting to make a left turn.

Upon arrival, an ambulance took Cook to Cherokee Medical Center, where he passed away before 2:45 p.m.

The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office confirmed Cook did not wear a helmet. No other details are available.
