SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC – A crash between a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck shut down a portion of a South Carolina interstate on Wednesday morning, reports FoxCarolina.
The collision took place on eastbound Interstate 26 near the exit for John Dodd Road, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation. A preliminary investigation by state troopers indicated that the driver of the tractor-trailer lost control after being struck by the pickup.
The semi crashed through a cable barrier and collided with a guardrail on the opposite side of I-26. No one was injured in the accident.
Lanes on I-26 were closed in both directions while the wreck was being cleared and investigated, and reopened to traffic at about 9:15 a.m. State troopers said the driver of the pickup will be given a ticket for improper lane change.
