Fuel spill, minor injuries reported after multi-truck wreck near Florence

FLORENCE, SC – A collision between a tanker truck, big rig, and trash truck resulted in a diesel fuel spill and led at least one person to sustain minor injuries Tuesday.

The multi-vehicle crash happened on I-95 South, and authorities suspected that around 3,500 pounds of fuel spilled onto the road, according to WPDE. Due to the nature of the wreck, authorities shut down the area for several hours.

During the closures, drivers were asked to take Exit 181, leading to Bennettsville on Highway 38, Highway 34, and Georgetown Road as an alternative route.
