Driver dies after car, box truck collide on I-385 in Greenville County

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC — One person died early Wednesday after their car collided head-on with a box truck on Interstate 385 in northwest Simpsonville, reports WYFF4.

The wreck took place on northbound I-385 near mile marker 32, just south of Balcome Boulevard. It was first reported shortly before 1:30 a.m.

While the events leading up to the crash have not been released, South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers confirmed the driver of the car died as a result of injuries suffered.

The driver of the box truck was not reported hurt.

An investigation by the Mauldin Police Department was underway.
