2 hospitalized after crash involving box truck on I-85 in Anderson County

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC — Two people were injured, one under a “Level 1 Trauma Alert,” Monday morning due to a multi-vehicle wreck involving a box truck near north Piedmont, reports WYFF4.

The accident happened on the westbound side of Interstate 85 under the State Highway 153 bridge at around 8:00 a.m. Multiple area agencies, including Wren Fire Department, Medshore Ambulance, and Anderson County emergency services, responded to the scene.

Officials have not released a sequence of events leading up to the crash, but three vehicles, including a box truck, were involved. One of the vehicles rolled several times, and one person was said to have been in the enclosed storage area of the box truck at the time of the crash.

Two people were rushed to an area hospital, where at least one of the patients was listed in critical condition.
