AIKEN COUNTY, SC — Authorities responded to a rollover crash involving an 18-wheeler early Friday that shut down seven miles of eastbound Interstate 20 near northeast Aiken, according to WRDW.
The accident was reported about three miles east of Columbia Highway (Exit 22) at about 12:00 a.m.
Details are limited, but South Carolina Highway Patrol officials were on the scene where the big rig had overturned, forcing all eastbound lanes between Edgefield Highway and Wire Road to close for about eight hours.
The closure remained in place until about 7:45 a.m., when the semi had been removed from the roadway and all lanes were announced reopened.
No information about potential injuries or pending charges have been reported.
