1 sent to hospital after pickup hauling trailer hits school bus in Greenville County

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC — One person was hospitalized Monday afternoon after a crash in Pelzer involving a school bus with 19 students aboard, reports WYFF4.

The accident unfolded on a stretch of State Highway 8 South at Bowen Hill Road, at around 2:30 p.m.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the driver was operating a Ford F-450 pickup truck with an attached trailer and the school bus had just left Ellen Woodside Elementary at 9122 Augusta Road. As the bus was coming to a stop, it was hit from behind by the pickup.

While none of the students or the bus driver was reported hurt, the driver of the striking vehicle was transported by ambulance to an area hospital with minor injuries.
