1 killed, 2 hospitalized after Clinton fire truck vs. car crash 

CLINTON, SC – One firefighter and one driver were hospitalized, and another firefighter passed away after a 2006 Lexus and fire engine truck collided Sunday. 

According to WYFF4, the driver of the fire engine truck was going east on Willard Road, while the motorist of the Lexus was driving north on Springdale Road. Both vehicles crashed around 11 a.m., leading one firefighter, who was identified as Michael Vinson, to die at the scene. 

First responders said the other firefighter was flown via a medical helicopter to Spartanburg Regional Hospital. The Lexus driver was hospitalized as well, but it is unclear if they were taken to the same hospital.

State police have yet to reveal the circumstances behind Sunday’s wreck or provide an update on the physical conditions of the two individuals.
