STANDING STONE, PA – A 57-year-old man was killed in a four-axle trash truck rollover collision that happened on the westbound U.S. 6 last Friday.
Pennsylvania State Police told the Star-Gazette that the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Rummerfield Road. It was there that the man lost a tire, which caused him to lose control of his truck. He overcorrected, which is what caused the truck to flip over and land on its side.
The force of the crash caused the driver to be entrapped or pinned inside his truck. Fire crews extricated him and said he died from his injuries at the scene.
Troopers confirmed the man wore a seatbelt and have since identified him as Jody G. Travelpiece from Beton, Pennsylvania.
Wysox, Wyalusing, and Towanda fire departments, Guthrie EMS, and Fulmer Recovery and Transport Tow Service all responded to the crash as well.
