Driver killed in head-on crash with box truck in Lorain Co., OH

PENFIELD TWP, OH – The driver of an SUV was killed yesterday when their vehicle collided head-on with a box truck on State Route 18 in Lorain County.

Fox 8 reports that the fatal collision happened at about 7:20 p.m. on November 13 near the highway’s intersection with Indian Hollow Road. A westbound 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming 2025 Freightliner box truck in the eastbound lanes.

The Santa Fe’s driver died as a result of the collision. Their identity has not been released.

The box truck’s driver suffered minor injuries.

State Route 18 remained closed between Indian Hollow Road and Foster Road until at least 10 p.m.
