KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC – A driver was killed in a wrong-way collision involving a semi-truck near Kings Mountain early last Friday.
According to WSOC, a passenger vehicle was heading north in the southbound lanes of I-85 near the exit to York Road at about 2 a.m. when it slammed head-on into an oncming semi-truck.
The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered fatal injuries in the crash. He has since been identified as 53-year-old George Joseph White Jr., of Charlotte.
The semi-truck’s driver was reportedly unhurt.
