Truck driver faces charges after crash injures man, 2 children in Gaston Co.

GASTON CO., NC – A semi-truck driver is facing multiple charges following a crash that left a man and his two children seriously injured last Thursday, October 19th.

According to Queen City News, a tractor-trailer was stopped in the southbound lanes of I-85 near mile marker 27 at about 4 a.m. when it was hit by a southbound minivan.

All three occupants of the minivan, a 49-year-old man, and his two children, ages 11 and 13, were rushed to a local hospital in serious condition.

Trooper say the truck’s hazard lights were inactive when the crash occurred. The driver, Mohammed Saeed Ali, 39, was arrested and charged with impeding the flow of traffic, failure to display warning devices, and improper parking.

Additional charges are pending.
