Fire crews extinguish propane truck fire near Aulander

NEAR AULANDER, NC – Local fire crews extinguished the flames from a propane truck on Highway 11 near Aulander Monday, WNCT reported.

Due to the nature of this incident, crews and local police were left with no choice but to shut down a portion of the area for the concern of citizens’ safety and for the standard scene clearance and investigation, which resulted in delays.

The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office, who were among the first responders at the fire truck accident site, have not confirmed if anyone was injured and fire crews did not confirm whether the fire resulted from a crash or mechanical issue.
