TROUTMAN, NC – An 85-woman woman tried left and struck a dump truck, causing the truck to roll over and leading to her death and injuring the truck driver and her passenger Tuesday.
This collision occurred around 1 p.m. at the junction of South Main Street and Autumn Leaf Road, according to WCNC. After the two vehicles collided, the force of this wreck caused the truck, hauling a trailer, to reverse right into a patrol car.
Authorities did not say if the driver of the patrol car was harmed but did say the truck driver, a 46-year-old man identified as William Wallace of Hudson, North Carolina, and the woman’s passenger, 87-year-old Kenneth Jones from Troutman, were both hospitalized.
The woman, Mildred Jones, was also sent to a hospital where she passed away.
Local Police started an investigation and have not released other information.
