SPENCER, NC – One person was pinned inside their car following a crash with a fire engine truck on I-85 South Saturday, WBTV said.
The car driver had collided with the fire truck around midnight. According to authorities, the car struck the truck while fire crews were tending to another collision involving a fiery vehicle.
Firefighters were able to extricate the pinned person, and medics treated them at the scene for unspecified injuries.
None of the firefighters were injured, but the fire truck was significantly damaged.
North Carolina Department of Transportation crews shut down all lanes before reopening at 5:30 a.m.
