FLAT ROCK, NC – A passenger inside a car was injured after their driver tried to change lanes and hit a semi-truck, leading materials from the semi to spill onto the road Tuesday.
This collision happened before 4:30 a.m. on Interstate 26 West along Upward Road, according to WLOS.
Not many details about this crash, including whether the truck driver was injured, are available. However, North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the car driver was going 25 miles per hour and driving in front of the big rig at the time of the collision.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation, who was also summoned to the scene, said they closed down both westbound and eastbound directions for a couple of hours for the scene clearance and investigation process before reopening all lanes.
