OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, MS — A rear-end collision involving a log truck Thursday morning near Starkville claimed the life of a 22-year-old man, reports WCBI.
The fatal accident happened on a stretch of U.S. Highway 82 at Douglastown Road, at around 6:30 p.m.
Few details have been released at this time, but the victim, identified as Preston Payne, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Oktibbeha County coroner.
Authorities did not immediately report any other major injuries.
An investigation remains open and ongoing. No pending charges have been confirmed.
