Driver dies after semi vs train crash in SE Forrest County

FORREST COUNTY, MS — One person died Wednesday afternoon, December 6, after a semi-truck collided with a train near Fruitland Park, according to WDAM.

While officials did not disclose the exact location of the fatal incident, first responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 12:00 p.m.

It’s unclear at this time what events led up to the wreck, but the Forrest County Deputy Coroner confirmed the driver of the semi-truck died from his injuries at the scene. He has since been identified as Micah Ladner, 37, of Wiggins.

An investigation by the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas City Southern Railway Company remain open and ongoing.
