JONES COUNTY, MS — Multiple agencies responded to a log truck collision Monday on State Highway 536 in north Ovett, according to WDAM.
The accident was reported at 190 George Boutwell Road (MS-536), off of State Route 15 South.
It’s unclear what caused the wreck, but preliminary details from the Jones County Sheriff’s Department indicate the adult male driver was able to self-extricate from the log truck, which was fully loaded at the time.
Following a medical evaluation by EMServ Ambulance Service personnel, he decline further medical treatment.
Motorists were warned of a lane closure and a possible shut down of the road as crews worked to remove the truck and fallen logs.
Crews from Glade Fire & Rescue and Powers Fire & Rescue were conducting traffic control at the scene.
