3, including truck driver, cows hurt in collision near Frierson

NEAR FRIERSON, LA – Three people, including a truck driver, and some cows were injured in a collision that happened near Frierson last Tuesday, KSLA reports.

The truck, which was transporting dozens of cows, had crashed and overturned around 1:15 a.m. on I-49. Approximately 70 to 80 cows fell from the truck and got loose. Moments later, a pickup truck driver struck one of the cows, causing the cow to go through the windshield.

The pickup truck driver and their passenger, a child, were also injured and had to go to a hospital. It’s unclear if the truck driver was hospitalized.

Authorities shut down I-49 North for several hours and reopened all lanes before 8:30 a.m.
