SCHIREVER, LA – Two children died, and one adult and another child were injured in a T-bone crash involving a big rig on Thursday, June 5.
Louisiana State Police told WWLTV that the crash happened after a woman driving a 1999 Toyota Camry turned left onto a driveway from LA Highway 311 when she crashed into a 2023 Kenworth truck.
EMS crews transported the three children to a hospital. There, one of them received treatment for moderate injuries, and the two others succumbed to their injuries.
The children who died were 6 and 12. The female car driver sustained minor injuries. She was identified as Cherri Breaux.
Troopers confirmed that the truck driver wore a seatbelt, was unharmed, and was not impaired.
Both the truck driver and Breaux provided toxicology samples.
