T-bone crash involving semi on US-24 near Huntington kills 1

HUNTINGTON CO., IN – A two-vehicle collision involving a tanker truck claimed a life Monday in northeast Huntington County, Indiana.

According to WANE 15, the fatal accident occurred just before 10 a.m. on US-24 near North 200 East in the Mardenis area. This is between Huntington and Roanoke.

Police say that roads were icy when the driver of a westbound Jeep entered the eastbound side of the highway and T-boned an eastbound 18-wheeler.

While the truck driver escaped injury, the driver of the Jeep succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the crash. Authorities have not yet identified the victim.

No charges have been announced so far.

A full investigation is underway.
