CLARKSDALE, IL – Two people were injured when a pair of semi trucks collided on Route 48 near Clarksdale last Friday morning, News Channel 20 reports.
According to authorities, the accident occurred around 8:54 am. Two semi trucks carrying soybeans collided, trapping one person inside their vehicle.
The Taylorville Fire Department arrived on scene and conducted an over two-hour extrication operation to free the victim.
One driver was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. The other driver was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries.
