CHICAGO, IL – A driver was hospitalized after a semi truck struck an overpass and lost its trailer, which then struck a garbage truck on Bishop Ford Freeway on Monday afternoon, abc7 Chicago reports.
According to the Illinois State Police, the collision occurred on the outbound Bishop Ford Freeway near 127th Street at about 4:30 pm.
The semi truck collided with the Norfolk Southern Bridge, causing its trailer to detach. The trailer then crashed into a garbage truck.
One driver refused medical treatment. The other driver was hospitalized with unknown injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
