BELVIDERE, IL – A 78-year-old man was killed when his vehicle collided head-on with a semi truck at a Bypass Route 20 intersection on Wednesday afternoon, MyStateline reports.
According to authorities, the accident occurred at the intersection of Bypass Route 20 and Shattuck Road around 3:34 pm.
The semi truck was headed eastbound on Bypass Route 20 when a van crossed over the center line and the two vehicles collided head-on.
The driver of the van, 78-year-old Richard Todd of Rockford, was pronounced dead at the scene.
