BLECKLEY COUNTY, GA – One person was killed, and multiple others were injured in a multi-vehicle accident involving three semi trucks on I-16 Friday morning, WGXA News reports.
According to the Bleckley County Sheriff’s Department, the collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-16 near the Twiggs County line just before 9 am.
Two box trucks were stopped in traffic behind a pickup pulling a utility trailer when a tractor-trailer that was following too closely struck one of the box trucks. The tractor-trailer and one of the box trucks overturned.
One person died, two were seriously injured, and another two suffered minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
