Logging truck jackknifes, spills fuel on Gray Hwy in Macon

MACON, GA — Crews were dispatched to the scene of a jackknifed logging truck and a fuel spill Wednesday afternoon on the Gray Highway in Macon, reports 13WMAZ.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said the incident took place at the Shurling Drive intersection at about 12:00 p.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but the truck, which sustained a damaged fuel tank, did not strike another vehicle during the initial crash. However, officials indicated that the resulting spill caused a passing pickup truck to skid on the oil and strike a guardrail.

Crews were on the scene working to clear the spill using oil dry.

No injuries or hospital transports from the site were immediately reported.
