GSP responds to fatal crash involving big rig on GA-25 in SW Savannah

CHATHAM COUNTY, GA — One person died last Thursday, December 7, following a wreck involving a tractor-trailer in southwest Savannah, according to WTOC.

The collision took place on the northbound lanes of Georgia State Highway 25 (Ogeechee Road).

Georgia State Patrol (GSP) officials say that a pickup truck was heading northbound when a tractor-trailer emerged from a private driveway along the highway’s east shoulder. As the big rig started to turn left onto southbound GA-26, the two vehicles collided.

The passenger of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials.

It was unclear whether anyone else was seriously hurt and/or had to be hospitalized.
