KENNESAW, GA – Fire crews extinguish the flames from a tractor-trailer at the I-75 South and Ernest W. Barrett Parkway connector Friday.
WSB Traffic first announced the truck fire at 11:43 a.m. and said it happened in the right lane. Georgia Department of Transportation footage showed that two fire trucks were at the scene, both of which blocked two lanes for the scene clearance procedure.
During the temporary closure, drivers were asked to take Highway 41 and Cobb Parkway or I-575 South as an alternative route. Closures lasted a few hours, and all lanes were reopened just before 2:30 p.m., according to Cobb County DOT personnel.
Authorities did not confirm whether the fire was caused by mechanical issues or resulted from a crash or specify if anyone was injured.
