Driver extricated from semi truck after crash in Garden City 

GARDEN CITY, GA – One driver had to be extricated from their semi-truck following a crash that happened on Highway 21 near mile marker 110 Tuesday. 

WJCL said the collision happened around 1 a.m. on the center lanes. The crash had blocked several lanes on the interstate and prompted a quick response from the Georgia Department of Transportation and Chatham County first responders. 

Fire crews were able to extricate the driver from their vehicle around 5 a.m. 

All delays (some of which were seen heading toward South Carolina) and closures lasted for several hours and appeared to clear by 2 p.m. 

The exact cause of the crash is unclear. New details will be added after our team learns more.
