Crash involving wood-chipper truck in Athens kills 27-year-old man

ATHENS, GA – An Oakwood man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in southeast Athens, according to Patch.

Police say 27-year-old Brandon Tolbert was driving a wood-chipper truck westbound on Lexington Road near Oak Drive at about 4:30 p.m. when he lost control of the truck. The vehicle then veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a curb before coming to rest in the median.

Tolbert was extricated and rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
