Amazon tractor-trailer involved in crash on I-75 near McDonough

HENRY COUNTY, GA — A multi-vehicle wreck Thursday morning closed part of northbound Interstate 75 near south McDonough, reports WSB-TV.

The accident happened south of Exit 216 to State Highway 155 and was first reported by Triple Team Traffic at 7:07 a.m.

Authorities have not indicated what caused the crash, but an Amazon tractor-trailer and two other unspecified vehicles were involved.

While no injuries were immediately confirmed, the incident forced all northbound lanes in the area to close, causing a traffic backup at least two miles long. Commuters were advised to take Bill Gardner Parkway (Exit 212) onto Highway 42/23, then take Highway 155 back onto I-75 northbound.

An investigation into the cause of the collision was in progress.
