3 killed in multi-vehicle wreck with tractor-trailers in Calhoun 

CALHOUN, GA – A multi-vehicle wreck involving three tractor-trailers led one vehicle to catch on fire and three people to suffer fatal injuries Tuesday.

Local3News said the collision began when a driver of a semi-truck crashed into a Hyundai Sonata on I-75 North. Moments later, the truck driver lost control of their vehicle, went into the southbound lanes, and collided head-on with two additional tractor-trailers and two additional vehicles – a 2020 Ford Ranger pickup truck and a Toyota Corolla.

The pickup truck caught on fire, and three individuals died a short time later.

As of writing, two of the deceased victims have been identified as 23-year-old Christopher Powell from Okeechobee, Florida, and 50-year-old William West from  Lafayette, Georgia. Their families have been notified of their passing, while one victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
