SAVANNAH, GA — Three people were sent to the hospital early Wednesday following a semi-truck accident and fire in downtown Savannah, according to WJCL.
The collision was reported at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Gaston Street, prompting a response from Savannah Fire Department crews at about 3:30 a.m.
While the cause of the crash and blaze remain unclear, firefighters arrived on the scene to a semi covered in flames, which were extinguished after about ten minutes.
Three people were transported to an area hospital for injuries considered non-life-threatening.
Authorities continue to investigate.
