2 men, 2 children lose lives after Hazelhurst car vs. semi crash 

HAZELHURST, GA – Two men and two children suffered fatal injuries after a fiery head-on collision between a car and a semi-truck Thursday.

Before 7:45 p.m., the driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche had slammed head-on to the big rig on GA 27, adjacent to Eureka Church Road, WJCL reports. The impact caused the vehicles to catch on fire.

All of the occupants died at the scene. The truck driver was identified as Jason Goodwin from Elgin, South Carolina.

The car motorist was identified as Nicolas Coleman, a local. Coleman’s children were ages 1 and 2. They have not been publicly identified.

Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene and shut down the entire intersection.
