CHATHAM COUNTY, GA — A truck collided with a building Thursday night in southwest Savannah, claiming the lives of two people, reports WTOC.
The accident unfolded on Ogeechee Road at Silk Hope Road, prompting a response from Georgia State Patrol troopers and first responders shortly after.
Officials said a Ford F-150 was heading northbound on the road when it sideswiped a Nissan Altima, which was also traveling northbound. The contact caused the truck to veer off the roadway and strike the building.
Emergency responders pronounced the passenger of the truck deceased at the scene.
The driver was transported to a an area hospital where he also succumbed to his injuries.
No other details have been shared at this time, but the Georgia State Patrol’s Troop F Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is handling an investigation.
