1 rescued by off-duty officer in Gwinnett Co. fiery big rig crash

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – An off-duty Gwinnett County Police officer sprung into action and rescued a driver after their truck cab caught on fire after it collided with another big rig.

This collision happened Friday on I-85 South, along Hamilton Mill Road, which is at milepost 123, according to AccessWDUN News Channel 75. The truck cab fire resulted after the tractor-trailer had gone off the road and rammed into a guardrail and retaining wall.

Authorities did not say if anyone sustained any injuries or revealed if anyone was taken to a hospital. They shut down the left lane to help crews clear the scene and for the investigation process.

If your tractor-trailer was damaged in an accident that was no fault of your own, you might be able to recover monetary compensation for truck repairs and even lost income incurred from missed time at work.
