Woman left critically hurt after sedan, semi collide on US-231 in Panama City

BAY COUNTY, FL — A crash involving a semi-truck Tuesday morning, December 5, in northeast Panama City left a 31-year-old woman from Dothan in critical condition, reports WJHG.

The two-vehicle accident unfolded in the area of U.S. Highway 231 and Titus Road at around 2:21 a.m.

Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officials say the woman was operating a sedan that was stopped at a stop sign on eastbound Titus Road, waiting to turn onto the northbound highway. At one point, the sedan entered the roadway and into the path of a semi-truck traveling southbound, resulting in a collision. Both vehicles came to rest in the northbound highway.

The driver of the sedan, who suffered critical injuries, was rushed to an area hospital. No injuries to the semi driver or anyone else were reported.

Authorities have not reported any pending charges.
