Truck drivers airlifted to hospital after 4-vehicle wreck in Perry 

PERRY, FL – A gas truck and log truck driver were airlifted to a hospital after a four-vehicle wreck on Highway 27 Wednesday, WCTV reports.

The events unfolded around 2 p.m. when a gas truck driver sideswiped a log truck. The log truck was propelled forward and then sideswiped a sedan and pickup truck.

The sedan, pickup truck, and log truck all had some form of sideswiped damage, while the log truck overturned.

The sedan and pickup truck drivers sustained minor injuries, while the gas truck and log truck driver were left in serious condition.

Florida Highway Patrol identified the gas truck driver as a 52-year-old man from Perry and the log truck driver as a 67-year-old man from Greenville.

Troopers and crews temporarily shut down the area for the clean-up process and investigation.

Officials have not yet disclosed why the Perry man lost control of his gas truck.

No citations or criminal charges were formally announced.
