Truck Driver Pleads Not Guilty in Florida Crash That Killed 3

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A commercial truck driver accused of three counts of vehicular homicide entered a not guilty plea this Monday, KCRA reports.

28-year-old Harjinder Singh–a native of India and Stockton, California resident–became the center of a heated debate about non-citizens obtaining commercial driver’s licenses in the U.S. after he was accused of making an illegal U-turn in his big rig and causing a wreck that killed three on Florida’s Turnpike outside Fort Pierce this past August.

Singh is currently being held in St. Lucie County Jail where he faces immigration violations on top of the three vehicular homicide charges he’s been accused of. He currently awaits a pre-trial docket call slated for this Friday.
