EUSTIS, FL – A 28-year-old man driving a 1994 trash truck collided head-on with a 2019 Toyota Corolla, which claimed a woman’s life Tuesday.
FOX 35 Orlando said traffic was starting to slow on northbound CR-439 when the 28-year-old man from Leesburg tried to press on his brakes, drifted into a southbound lane, and struck the car.
The driver of the truck, who was spared from injuries, remained at the scene while EMS crews rushed the Toyota driver to AdventHealth Waterman Hospital. There, the car motorist, a 23-year-old woman from Altoona, passed away.
Crews shut down the north and southbound directions of CR-439 to accommodate the scene clearance process and the Florida Highway Patrol’s investigation.
