CENTER HILL, FL – A 63-year-old man operating a trash truck ran a stop sign and hit a Chevy van, sending the van driver to the hospital, where he passed away Tuesday.
The events happened before 5:45 a.m., according to Click Orlando. Prior to the collision, the van motorist was going north on SR-471 and the truck driver east on CR-476.
After the vehicles collided, EMS crews rushed the van driver to a hospital, where he ultimately gave in to his injuries. Florida Highway Patrol identified the victim as a 45-year-old man from Webster.
The truck driver, from Florida City, was spared from physical harm. Troopers did not say if they cited him or if he could expect to face criminal charges for his involvement in the wreck.
