Teen driver dies after car hits tractor-trailer in Fort Lauderdale

BROWARD COUNTY, FL — An 18-year-old driver lost her life Thursday evening after her car crashed into a big rig on Northwest 19th Street in Fort Lauderdale, reports Local 10 News.

The fatal wreck unfolded on the westbound lanes between 21st Avenue and 24th Avenue. It was first reported by WPLG Local 10 News at 8:14 p.m.

While the cause of the accident remains under investigation, preliminary details indicate the 18-wheeler was reversing in the area when the teen’s vehicle slammed into its trailer.

First responders pronounced the teen driver deceased at the scene.
