FORT PIERCE, FL – A person suffered fatal injuries as a result of a three-vehicle head-on crash involving a garbage truck Monday, TC Palm said.
The collision took place at the intersection of North Kings Highway and Saint Lucie Boulevard, west of Treasure Coast International Airport.
St. Lucie County deputies and fire rescue crews responded to the scene before 3:15 p.m. After arriving, they shut down the highway, starting at St. Lucie Boulevard and ending at Indrio Road for the scene clearance and investigation period.
Since the investigation is in preliminary stages, authorities have not been able to provide a definitive answer regarding the exact cause of the crash.
