News: Fiery rear-end wreck with semi claims one life in Orlando

ORLANDO, FL – A driver of a car rear-ended a semi-truck on the northbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike, leading it to catch on fire and claiming the life of the driver Sunday.

Florida Highway Patrol told Fox 35 Orlando that the crash happened after 11:45 p.m. when the Honda Civic driver was supposedly speeding, at least according to eyewitnesses, when he struck the back of the truck. As a result, the car burst into flames, and the man died at the scene. Meanwhile, the truck driver, who remained at the scene, was able to walk away unscathed.

The medical examiner’s office will release the man’s name pending notification of next of kin.
