LEE CO., FL – A Fort Meade man was killed this morning in a tractor-trailer crash near the Bob Janes Preserve in Lee County, according to WFTX.
Troopers say the crash occurred as the truck was heading east on North River Road near Elmwood Drive. The vehicle veered off the side of the roadway and onto the shoulder, where it collided with two utility poles.
The driver, an unidentified 62-year-old man, was rushed to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries later on.
Investigators are working to establish an official cause of the crash.
