Man, 55, loses life following crash with big rig in Alachua 

ALACHUA, FL – A 55-year-old man driving a pickup truck lost his life upon striking the side of a tractor-trailer Wednesday, WCJB reports. 

The events unfolded around 6 a.m. when the truck driver was pulling out of the Dollar General Distribution Center parking lot and then collided with the large truck. 

Florida Highway Patrol did not say if the pickup truck driver did not see the semi-truck while exiting. 

Troopers did not confirm if the semi-driver would be charged but did say the motorist was unharmed.
