NEAR WESTVILLE, FL – A 53-year-old man from Tampa lost his life after he lost control of his semitrailer and then slammed into a tree along I-10 West Wednesday.
This collision was reported around 8:30 a.m. in an outside lane near mile marker 99, according to WMBB.
Florida Highway Patrol, Holmes County Emergency Medical Services, Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, and Holmes County Fire Rescue were all summoned to the scene. Upon arrival, they declared the man dead at the scene.
At the time of reporting, officials told the source that they were working to notify the victim’s family of his passing and have not provided an update regarding whether the family has been informed.
An investigation was launched. No other details are available at this time.
